Pet Friendly Hotels In San Antonio

    According to the San Antonio Area Tourism Council, San Antonio draws upwards of 26 million tourists per year. Additionally San Antonio is a big conference city and has experienced increased interest in the burgeoning locally driven restaurant and brewery scenes. This all undoubtedly adds up to more business for the hotels industry. Here are some pet friendly hotel recommendations that tourists and Staycationers alike might enjoy when traveling with their furbabies.

    Aloft Hotel

    *Most Overall Pet Friendly*

    Pet friendly perks: The Aloft has the “ARF program” which offers some wonderful amenities for each furry guest, such as: complimentary dog bowls, beds, treats and toys. They truly consider pets like family, so your pet’s stay is free. They do have some limitations however: pets under 40 lbs only and 1 pet per room. Another great feature is their “backyard area” –a large grassy area for your pets to stretch their legs. What has been their most unique furry visitor? A teeny tiny Chihuahua.

    La Quinta

    *Economically Pet Friendly*

    Pet friendly perks: With multiple locations in many of the touristy and well-traveled areas, they allow both dogs and cats, have no size limit and allow up to 2 pets per room. Additionally they require no pet deposits and have an outdoor have dog walking station. What has been their most unique furry visitor? A pig.

    Drury Hotels

    *Economically Pet Friendly*

    Pet friendly perks: They allow up to 2 pets per room and give out dog biscuits upon arrival, allowing both dogs and cats. They do have a $10 plus tax per night fee that applies. No size limit, but ask that guests do not leave pet unattended for more than 30 minutes at a time.

    Extended Stay America – San Antonio Airport

    *Long-term Stay Pet Friendly*

    Pet friendly perks: For visitors staying for a longer period of time, this extended stay has a non-refundable pet fee of $25 per day (not to exceed $150 total) per animal. They allow both dogs and cats, 2 pets per room allowed. The size limit is determined on a case by case basis. The hotel is surrounded by grass for walking your dog. Most unique furry visitor? A tropical bird.

    Emily Morgan

    *Upscale Pet Friendly*

    Pet friendly perks: The Emily Morgan is block from a dog park and has green space around hotel for walks. They welcome all pets under 50 lbs with a $50 non-refundable deposit per pet (which they apply to completely refreshing rooms for the next occupant). Requirements include: pets must not be left unattended. What has been their most unique furry visitor? A parakeet.

    Wyndham San Antonio Riverwalk

    *Upscale Pet Friendly*

     Pet friendly perks: The Wyndham has plenty of greenspace close to the hotel & carries complimentary bags of dog biscuits and also offers doggy bags for their guests. They do require a $50 non-refundable pet fee for all pets. Wyndham requires that all pets must be caged or kenneled at all times when not with their owner and have a maximum weight limit of 50 lbs.
